Breaking a habit is about recognizing your triggers and changing your response to those triggers. For me, it was waking up tired and wanting a quick fix for my exhaustion. At first, I had to get rid of the overdose of caffeine in my system. I quit regular coffee and switched to decaf coffee. Mind you, decaf still has caffeine.
Meanwhile, I looked for my question; why do I require coffee? I came to the conclusion that I need a quick boost of energy and happiness to be productive as soon as possible. I went to research other ways to achieve this, maybe even more effectively than coffee.
I discovered working out in the morning is a great way to get a huge boost of energy and a change in your mood. I started with a 20-minute resistance band HIIT workout. This helped but there was still something missing.
Later I added vitamin C effervescent tablets, vitamin D drops, apple vinegar, ginger and tea with honey. This has become my new ‘coffee’ in the morning.
This became my – how to quit coffee – method. Replacing a negative habit with a positive habit while still giving my body what it needs and also recognizing my triggers.
I hope this helps you to quit your caffeine addiction as well, as usual you can always contact me. I’m here to help.
